Meet the ‘tastemakers’

The days when only beer was brewed at De Koninck are over. Several culinary establishments opened their workshop on the site of the De Koninck City Brewery. Here you can buy, taste, attend a workshop and even have dinner to complete your visit to the brewery.

Crafts

  • Chocolatier JITSK set up a chocolate workshop and shop here. There, he makes sweet creations that are appreciated all over the world.
  • Cheese refiners Van Tricht had their cheeses matured in the brewery for several years, but have now opened their shop and bar Only Cheese, where you can taste and buy cheeses.
  • Top butchers De Laet & Van Haver found accommodation on the site for The Butcher’s Store. As you choose meat from the refrigerated counter, you can see the pieces hanging in the glass cold storage room.
  • Baker Kenney Van Hoorick opened The Bakery, where he scores with fresh sourdough bread. Every week he conjures up a new type of bread on the shelf.
  • Recreational and sporty cyclists can admire a top selection of bicycles, cycling clothing and accessories in the concept store Velodome.

Bars & Restaurants

  • Black Smoke brings BBQ to the heart of Antwerp and offers a bar, a BBQ restaurant and a rooftop bar where everything revolves around one thing: craftsmanship.
  • Head chef Bert-Jan Michielsen and sommelier Luc Dickens serve the tastiest dishes in their Michelin-starred restaurant The Butcher’s Son.

For delicious Flemish fare you have to visit De Pelgrim, a brasserie in a vintage setting.
