Street art

Don’t forget to scan your surroundings while you walk through this neighbourhood. Antwerp has a lot of street art, and Sint-Andries is no exception. Colourful murals by Belgian and international artists grace many of the walls in this neighbourhood. Walk through Munthof and enjoy this lovely open space in the city’s historic centre. Download the Streetart Antwerp app to find all the murals. Hungry? Camino in Munthof, a local fave, serves delicious Korean comfort food.

St Andrew’s Church

Need a bit of peace and quiet? Want to enjoy some timeless beauty? Why not visit St Andrew’s Church, which was built in 1529? You won’t regret it. The church has several magnificent 17th-century artworks and baroque altars, including a monument to the Scottish Queen Mary. Another highlight is the impressive pulpit.

Pedestrian tunnel

The eye-catching building in Sint-Jansvliet is the entrance to the Pedestrian Tunnel. This tunnel takes you to the opposite side of the river, on foot or by bike. This is also a great place to snap some cool shots, of the authentic wooden escalators and the tunnel itself, which has often been likened to a film set. Enjoy sweeping views of Antwerp’s skyline from Linkeroever.

The city’s fashion district

Antwerp lives and breathes fashion. And this is especially true in Antwerp’s fashion district. Fashion lovers, eat your heart out! The Fashion Museum offers a dazzling programme full of exhibits, walks and activities.
