Looking for a coffee roastery in Antwerp where you can try some proper speciality coffee? The city has a few coffee bars that select, roast and prepare their own coffee beans using traditional methods. Small micro-roasters rub shoulders with well-known names. Where can you find the best freshly roasted coffee in Antwerp?

Normo

Coffee bar Normo is one of the first coffee bars in Antwerp. It has its own roastery in Borgerhout, where the coffee beans are roasted with respect for the farmer. Many coffee spots in the city source their traditionally roasted beans from here. The coffee is fair trade, the baristas are well trained. No wonder the place is so popular with art students from the nearby Academy.

Andy Roasters

A five-minute walk from the Museum of Fine Arts in Het Zuid you'll find coffee bar Andy Roasters. The name is a nod to artist Andy Warhol, because coffee is art. And many coffee bars in Antwerp agree. That's why they buy their coffee beans here. On sunny days, the coffee tastes even better on the terrace.

Cross Roast

Cross Roast is an artisan micro-roastery in the heart of Antwerp, near the Grote Markt. As well as roasting their coffee beans, its experts also offer advice and workshops at the Cross Roast Experience Store. You can taste the tastiest roasts at espresso bar Caffe Mundi.

Kolonel Coffee

Kolonel Coffee is well established on Het Zuid, between cultural centre Monty and Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts. What began in 2010 as a cosy coffee bar grew into its own micro roastery with two coffee shops. Hobby roasters can find professional equipment, and you can also buy speciality coffee beans here.

Caffénation

Another Antwerp classic: Caffènation also roasts its own beans. Today, the coffee shop can be found at four locations throughout the city. Come have a taste in Het Zuid, at two locations on the Mechelsesteenweg, or in the rooftop gardens of PAKT in Berchem.

Rush Rush Coffee

Fancy a cup of coffee in Zurenborg? Treat yourself to a delicious one at Rush Rush Coffee. The Antwerp roastery with coffee bar is close to Draakplaats and Dageraadplaats. A little further on, you will find the beautiful Cogels-Osylei, brimming with Art Nouveau. That artistry can also be tasted in every cup of speciality coffee.

Cuperus

Cuperus Coffee Roasters has a history spanning 200 years. It is one of the oldest coffee and tea brands in the Low Countries. In 1965, it opened the city's very first coffee bar in Antwerp. Today, Cuperus continues to roast and distribute high-quality speciality coffee.
