The largest Gothic structure in the Low Countries, recognised as a World Heritage Site, a treasure trove of art with top paintings by Rubens... there are plenty of reasons to visit the majestic Cathedral of Our Lady.

Gothic masterpiece

Discovering Antwerp and not visiting the cathedral is almost unthinkable. Standing at the entrance on Handschoenmarkt, at Nello and Patrasche under a blanket of cobblestones, you can see the magnificent structure towering above you. On this site, there was already a small chapel in the 9th century and, in 1352, the construction of the largest Gothic church in the Low Countries began. One hundred and seventy years later, the cathedral rose 123 meters above Antwerp.
